From 1 January 2026, RICS members are required to complete CPD covering three mandatory topics on a rolling three-year basis: Ethics, Sustainability, and Data, AI & Technology. Alastair has been working in the property sector since 2008 and was Director and Head of Sustainability at GVA (now Avison Young UK), and then the Director of Business Transformation for the UK Green Building Council.
Now a freelance sustainability consultant, Alastair works with investment and asset management individuals, teams and organisations on sustainability and regenerative practices and outcomes.

Chris is an experienced property executive, combining both deep knowledge of how property in the UK functions along with lived experience of deploying AI that generates measurable benefits within property companies.
Chris is currently the UK’s property lead for Artefact – Europe’s leading data and AI consultancy – and is also heavily involved in setting the standards and writing the guidelines which UK RICS surveyors will follow. Chris is working on some of the largest AI deployment projects across the world and will bring his lived experiences and anecdotes to the session.

David commenced practice in 1978 with the Inland Revenue and moved to private practice 10 years later.
He has been a Director of two practices since and with Lambert Smith Hampton for 28 years. There he has headed both Valuation and Lease Advisory Departments and the Oxford Office. Nine years ago he moved to “National Head of Standard Practice” and on moving to semi-retirement in 2023 became “Claims and Complaints Manager”.
David has a wealth of regulatory and lecturing experience which he brings to this module.
