This course takes you through the Tier 2 mandatory training in Autism and Learning Disability Awareness Training which has been a CQC requirement since July 2022.
Outcome:
To ensure staff working in health and social care receive learning disability and autism training, at the right level for their role to promote the best outcomes for patients
Aims:
To have a better understanding of people’s needs, resulting in better services and improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
Learning objectives
- Look at the requirements of the Oliver McGowan Tier 2 mandatory training to better serve our neurodiverse patients including ADHD
- Appreciate the difference between learning difficulty and learning disability
- Hear from neurodiverse people about their experiences and needs
- Discuss how to have an individual approach and manage uncertainty
- Signpost to the core capabilities framework
