Lee is specialist in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology and works as a Consultant Dental and Maxillofacial Radiologist at Kings College Hospital, London and at the Eastman Dental Hospital, University College London Hospitals. He has served as Vice President of The International Association of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology (IADMFR). He is a past Honorary Secretary of the British Society of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology (BSDMFR) and past council member of the British Society of Head and Neck Imaging (BSHNI).

He graduated as a dentist from the University of Bristol. He completed his specialist training in Liverpool being trained by both Dental and Maxillofacial and ENT/Head and Neck Radiologists. He has clinical experience reporting Radiographs, CBCT, CT and MRI examinations. He performs specialist salivary gland imaging, diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided biopsies of the head and neck region.

He is passionate about education and holds a formal qualification in learning and teaching in higher education. He lectures regularly to postgraduate dental professionals. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London where he is actively involved in undergraduate teaching in Dental Radiology.

Mike is Emeritus Professor of Oral Medicine at Cardiff University.  He has held a number of senior professional positions including, Dean of the School of Dentistry at Cardiff University, Dean of the Dental Faculty of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow, President of the British Society for Oral Medicine and President of the British Society for Oral & Dental Research.  Mike has published over 200 scientific articles, authored six medical textbooks and delivered more than 800 invited presentations worldwide. He has worked in the field of mouth cancer for more than 40 years and regularly lectures on the subject to all members of the dental profession.  He is a Clinical Ambassador for the Mouth Cancer Foundation and Council Member of the GDC.

Stephen Henderson is the Head of the Dental Division at MDDUS and is a Specialist in Oral Surgery who qualified in London  in 1984. After five years in full time hospital practice he went in to general dental practice in Oxford. He continued to work part-time in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the John Radcliffe Hospital until 2000, when he joined Dental Protection. He converted his practice to a largely private referral oral surgery practice when he became a full time adviser at DP in 2007.  He continued to work as a visiting specialist in the same practice and at a practice in Bedford until the pandemic commenced. He has undertaken Expert Witness training with Bond Solon.

In December 2017 he left DP and joined MDDUS. In his medico-legal career Stephen’s expertise has been complex GDC cases as his medical law degree included a dissertation on Regulatory Law in UK. He has experience of international regulators and the management of dental and maxillofacial claims in a number of different jurisdictions.

After qualifying from Manchester University Pat took up a resident oral surgery post prior to joining a general dental practice in Manchester as an Associate. She went on to combine her role in practice with teaching oral surgery at the Dental School. In 1982 Pat became a partner in a general practice in Surrey and continued teaching oral surgery at Guy’s Hospital. In 1986 she started up a new practice in Berkshire.

Pat was a founder member of the Denplan team and held the post of Deputy Chief Dental Officer from 1987 to 2003. Her role at Denplan included the development and implementation of Denplan’s much respected quality assurance and clinical governance programmes and she was instrumental in developing Denplan’s Excel Accreditation Programme.

In 2003 Pat was appointed Group Clinical Director at Oasis Dental Care, a post she held for 7 years.

In 2010 Pat co-founded Apolline with the aim of providing a complete dental compliance solution to dental practices and dental groups of all sizes, offering innovative software, in-practice support and online and in-practice training. She has lectured widely on all compliance based subjects, including on safeguarding. Pat combines her role as CEO of Apolline with being Chief Dental Officer at Dentex Healthcare.

Spanning almost four decades, Jon Wheater has held senior nursing and management roles across adult, children’s, neonatal, community, and palliative care. He is an experienced practising nurse and clinical facilitator and has held numerous named and executive safeguarding lead roles. As a senior academic, Jon has held director posts within two of England’s largest health and social care university faculties. He is passionate about partnership working to identify abuse and neglect in children, young people, and vulnerable adults, educating clinical teams on practical steps to prevent further harm and ensure the rights, wishes, and voices of those in our care are respected.

Alice is a currently a Resuscitation Officer at University Hospital Southampton; responding to medical emergencies and cardiac arrests across the hospital. Alice initially started as a staff nurse on a surgical unit, but her main background is in intensive care nursing. She worked for 6 years on a General Intensive Care Unit, initially as a staff nurse and then a deputy sister. She instructs on both Adult and Paediatric advanced, immediate and basic life support courses.

Dani is a registered nurse working at Southampton General Hospital, a trauma centre in the South East. Dani has worked in Acute and Emergency Medicine for 6 years covering the Acute Medical Unit and the Emergency Department. For the past three years, Dani has been working as a Resuscitation Officer at Southampton Hospital; covering the emergency bleep for medical emergencies and cardiac arrests, whilst also teaching paediatric and adult advanced Life Support courses.

Rebecca Peckham works for Southampton General hospital as an Emergency Department Sister and Resuscitation  officer. She has been working within Emergency Medicine for 12 years. Rebecca deals with medical emergencies, the critically unwell and cardiac arrest patients daily as part of her role within ED and Resus Services. Alongside this Rebecca also teaches Resuscitation skills to hospital staff and is a course director for Advanced life support courses for both adults and children.

Simon is a Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology at The Eastman Dental Hospital, London and Queen Victoria Hospital, Sussex. His subspecialty clinical interests are dentoalveolar cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and salivary gland interventional radiology. A passionate educator, Simon has been employed in education for over a decade. He lectures regularly to undergraduate and postgraduate dental professionals and designed and runs the British Dental Association CBCT reporting Masterclass. He is published in several peer reviewed journals and has co-authored a best selling textbook on CBCT use in Endodontics, translated into 4 languages. He is an examiner at The Royal College of Surgeons and sits on the committee of the education charity ‘Teeth Relief’. He has an interest in dentolegal disputes and holds a Masters degree in Medical Law and Ethics from the King’s College London School of Law. He sits on The DDU Dental Advisory Committee and acts as an independent expert witness.

Shanon divides his time between specialist practice and at teaching at King’s College London Dental Institute. His main research interests are CBCT, root resorption and the restoration of root treated teeth. He has supervised 60+ Masters and PhD students. Shanon’s background as a clinical academic has resulted in him publishing over 120 papers. He is recognized internationally as a leading authority on 3D (CBCT) imaging and root resorption and was lead author of 3 European Society of Endodontology position statements (CBCT 2014, 2019 and External Cervical Resorption 2018). Shanon has been invited as a keynote or plenary speaker at over 100 lectures in international meetings spanning 5 continents and has co-authored 4 textbooks which have been translated into 5 different languages.
